Power Skating

The Foundation for Elite Performance!

Our Power Skating program at CCA is designed to elevate your game by stripping away the puck, strategy, and gameplay to focus solely on the foundational skater. This is where we improve pre-existing skills and develop new ones in a concentrated, efficient environment.

We put a particular emphasis on:

  • Posture & Efficiency: Optimal body and shoulder placement for maximum speed.
  • Control & Balance: Improving edge work and stability.

Who Should Join?
This program is ideal for athletes ages 7+ (younger upon coaching approval) who are currently playing hockey or ringette. This is not a learn-to-skate class. Participants must already be confident in their basic skating abilities and be able to perform all skills listed in the pre-requisites below.

Due to the advanced nature of this program, skaters who do not meet the pre-requisites will be moved to an appropriate level program or refunded.

Program Details
As there is only one Power Skating class, it includes a wide range of ages and skill levels. All skaters will work through our comprehensive skills list at their own pace, with equal attention and opportunity for development.

Public registration is now open!

Hockey Buddies

Great hockey players start here!

Our Hockey Buddies program is designed to give your young athlete the essential foundation they need to enter organized hockey. We focus on building basic skating skills and introducing fundamental hockey skills in a fun, structured environment.

We put a particular emphasis on:

  • Independence: Learning to move and recover on their own.
  • Skating Fundamentals: Balance, forward stride, and stopping.

Who Should Join?
This program is specifically for children ages 4-5 who have had previous skating experience. This is not a learn-to-skate class. Participants must already be confident in their basic abilities and be able to perform all skills listed in the pre-requisites below.

Due to the nature of the class, all skaters must be able to get up on their own while wearing full equipment. Parents are not permitted on the ice to assist.

Skaters who do not meet the pre-requisites will be moved to an appropriate level program or refunded.

Program Details
