Our Figure Skating programs are non-competitive, badge level programs which provide a rewarding experience for all skaters. At the end of the season, the skaters in the two figure skating classes come together to perform in a skate show. These programs are taught by qualified, enthusiastic coaches with years of experience and training and diverse skating backgrounds.
Advanced Learn to Skate/Intro to Figure Skating (Formerly "Figure Skating I")
The introductory program focuses on general skating skills with an emphasis on strength and control. The skills learned in this program will help your child succeed in figure skating, hockey, ringette, or other ice sports. Skaters can wear either figure skates or hockey skates. This program is for children ages 5 and up. The child must turn 5 before the program begins. Beginner skaters are welcome, but previous lessons are encouraged. There is a maximum 1:10 coach to skater ratio which ensures your child gets the best instruction possible!
Within this session there are skater groups that focus on figure skating skills and groups that focus on power skating and hockey skills. After accomplishing indtroductory skills, skaters will either continue with figure skating skills and badges, or branch off into power skating/hockey skills and special power badges.
This program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm. Attendance is required both days.
The cost is $400 for 40 lessons, each one hour in length.
Skaters are required to wear a helmet in this class. See our Equipment Checklist for more information.

In addition to the program registration fee, registrants in the figure skating programs are required to provide one volunteer cheque of $100 per family, post-dated to March 10, 2018. Volunteer cheques are cashed in the event that the family does not meet their volunteer requirement for the year. Volunteer opportunities will be announced at the annual general meetings in October and January.
Please note that since we are not a Skate Canada member club, skaters in our programs will not be registered in any Skate Canada membership databases.
