Intro to Figure Skating

A rewarding start to Figure Skating!

Our Intro to Figure Skating program is a non-competitive, badge-level program designed to be the next step in a skater's journey. We build on general skating proficiency while introducing basic figure skating techniques. This class provides a strong foundation for skaters wanting to continue with either competitive or non-competitive figure skating paths. In this class, we will cover levels 4 through 7 of our Badge Levels.

Registration is now open for current club members only. Public registration will open to the public on May 1 at 8:00 AM sharp. If you are new to the club, please register for our waitlist. A member of our coaching team will contact you to verify skill requirements. View pre-requisites below.

Program Goals

Skaters in this program will work  through levels 4 through 7 of our badge levels, focusing on the following:
  • Edge work and control
  • Balance, flexibility, and posture
  • Gliding and turning on one foot
  • Introduction of jumps and spins

For more information about the skills that are covered in this class, and how skaters are evaluated, visit our Assessments & Evaluations page.

Skater Groups

Within this program, skaters are placed into small groups based on their initial skill level. As the season progresses and the skaters grow in confidence, the group’s focus evolves with them. For example, the Purple Group would start at Level 3, and may transition into a Level 3/4 or Level 4 curriculum as the skaters master new techniques. This ensures the instruction always matches the group's collective progress without disrupting their team environment.

Purple Group - Level 3
Pink Group - Level 4
Orange Group - Level 4/5
Black Group - Level 6
