Intro to Figure Skating
A rewarding start to Figure Skating!
Our Intro to Figure Skating program is a non-competitive, badge-level program designed to be the next step in a skater's journey. We build on general skating proficiency while introducing basic figure skating techniques. This class provides a strong foundation for skaters wanting to continue with either competitive or non-competitive figure skating paths.
We put a particular emphasis on:
- Figure Skating Techniques: Beginning edges, basic spirals, and turning skills.
- Control & Grace: Developing fluid movement and precision.
Who Should Join?
Participants must have completed our Learn to Skate Level 3, City of Calgary Skating 3, or CanSkate Stage 3. This program is open to skaters age 7 and up, or younger with approval. Any skaters who do not meet these pre-requisites will be moved to the Learn to Skate class at the discretion of our coaching team. Please contact us to discuss class requirements if you are unsure about your skater's eligibility. You may be asked to show a progress card or report card from another skating program.
View our Program Guide for more information on other CCA programs.
